Letters of Access for REACH registration in 2013 and 2018 [PDF].

REACH Centrum set up the LoA Shop for Vinyl acetate. The LoA Shop can be accessed for all substances here.

All SIEF members should have received the message from REACH Centrum's LoA Shop.

The Vinyl Acetate REACH consortium decided to adopt the classification agreed on EU level in 2007 by the EU’s Technical Committee on Classification & Labelling. No new data on vinyl acetate were developed which would require a classification different from the proposal agreed by TC C&L in 2007.

We would like to encourage SIEF members to review the proposal by July 30, 2010: proposal can be found in Vinyl Acetate members' section.

We need your help to define the cost of the Letter of Access

The lead company is currently in the process of determining the costs for a Letter of Access to the vinyl acetate REACH Registration dossier.

One relevant step is determining the number of registrations to be submitted in 2010. SIEF members who indicated their status as "involved" were contacted directly to identify their registration intentions for 2010.

SIEF members with status "dormant" or "passive" who intend to register in 2010 are requested to notify the lead company via as soon as possible.

This information will help determining the cost for the Letter of Access. Thank you for your cooperation.

Vinyl Acetate - Identified Uses for REACH registration [PDF]

We have posted updated progress as of 29th January 2010.

Verification that your company’s level of SIEF participation is accurate for vinyl acetate.

While compiling the survey feedbacks using Siefreach, we realised that some errors may have occurred. We undertook a second e-mail communication asking all companies to check the survey report to ensure the entries reflect the correct level of SIEF participation. If you did not receive this survey, please contact the SIEF using the vinyl acetate contact form.

Appointment of lead registrant for vinyl acetate

The second e-mail communication also informed the SIEF that Celanese Chemicals Europe GmbH claimed the position as lead registrant for vinyl acetate (a related message was posted in REACH-IT). Each company was asked to inform the SIEF if they did not agree with this lead registrant selection. We are pleased to announce that Celanese has been unanimously endorsed by the Vinyl Acetate SIEF as the lead registrant for vinyl acetate (CAS no 108-05-4, EC no 203-545-4). The lead registrant may be contacted via the contact form

What uses will be supported?

'Supported uses'. We are currently preparing a list of uses that we expect the joint dossier to support. The outcome will be posted on the website, as soon as it is available.
